Re: Shaun
Neat, isn't it, the psychology of names, how our feelings about names and real people are so intertwined and nearly impossible to separate.Funny enough, I love the name Sean, but also have a special place in my heart for someone who spells it Shaun, like your cricketer. ;DAnd I just thought to add, it's odd, but as much as I like Étienne I don't care for Steven / Stephen so much; I don't dislike them, I just don't get the warm fuzzies either.

Steven/StephenI know exactly what you mean. Most of my favourite names have personal meanings that transcend far beyond etymologies, popularity & sound. And I think that applies to most of the posters in one way or another. That's why I always appreciate it when posters tell the story behind a particular name & why it is so special to them - like you did with Etienne. Ditto on Steven/Stephen. I have never liked that name. I find it plain & boring, but I don't mind it on someone else's child.Oh I have been meaning to tell you I love the bindi that you wear on your forehead. It makes you look pleasantly exotic & mysterious.:o)
