I have never liked Hugo, it just looks unwieldy somehow and there was a character in a book that I never quite got over. I don't really like the hard g sound either.

I'm not too keen on Hugh, because it seems stuffy, but I like the Welsh spelling Huw. It just seems friendlier, stupid as that may sound!
