I love looking at different naming styles across the country. Interesting things I found here:
- Boys' names are way more conservative than the girls'. That's true everywhere, but it seems really clear from this sample. Even the unusual boys' names here aren't too weird at all.
- Tons of Hawaiian names! Definitely leaning towards the more basic side (
Kai,
Leilani, etc.) but still...much be the beach culture.
- And there's a lack of Biblical names. I think in the entire month (about 2-3 times as many babies as listed here) the only Biblical names used were
Jacob and
Ethan (one of each). No Joshuas, no Abigails, no Hannahs. Maybe it was just a weird month there.
