As you have seen from my post, I had a similar dilemna. First off, I love the name
Charlotte. And
Charlotte Rose is gorgeous. I agree that
Charlotte Lynn doesn't flow, too many "L"s too close together. However, I completely understand the sentiment. I too am naming after a dear family member. But, I am using the middle name
Kate after my cousin who was actually named
Katie. So, maybe you could find something similar to
Lynn like
Charlotte Malynn or something. I think in the end though, it comes down to what you really want. And I actually like the spelling
Mae.
On the other hand, even though I want to name after family, I am still skeptical. See, I was named after my grandmother
Martha Grace Ingram. Hence the spelling of my name Magi. Her initials with an extra letter thrown in. So I always kinda felt like I didn't get my own name. So using something that has never been used before has its benefits too.
