Kennedy is quite well known in some circles, though it should be pointed out that her parents named her
Pamela and she changed it to Pagan herself:

I think that most people who would name a child Pagan would be aware of its meaning and use it precisely because it is avant garde and they believe it will NOT be used by the general middle-class in the USA. At this point in history, they are probably right -- but if one of their daughters becomes really famous, instead of just very mildly famous like Pagan
Kennedy, it has the sort of sound that a lot of average parents who have little concern about "meanings" could find attractive.
