Twins! And Roswitha combos. :D
I babysat for the most adorable twin girls yesterday. They're called Hazel and Violet (and as their middle names are rather more unusual, we'll leave those out of it). WDYT? Their mother told me that Hazel Violet is the name of their great-grandmother. :)
And Roswitha combos. WDYTO these (all mns are family names)? None of them have quite the right spark of genius, so I've got to ask, do you have any suggestions? Roswitha is prn. ros-WEET-ah, and I have to admit that my first inclination would be to call her Sweetie or Sweeta as a nn.
Roswitha Hazel
Roswitha Edith
Roswitha Mary
Roswitha Ruby
Roswitha Emma
Roswitha Clare / Roswitha Clair
I'm now up to eight names for girls I could currently totally see using as first names for actual daughters: Evening, Ruxandra, Mercedes, Katharine, Scarlet Carson, Pandora, Roswitha, Valerie. :D

First thing I thought of
was Roswitha Charmaine, although that may come across as too frilly. :o/
There's also:
Roswitha Pearl
Roswitha Gladys
Roswitha Agnes
Roswitha Mame
Roswitha Maude (!) (This has real potential, I think. (o: )
Roswitha Hildegard (Again, real potential here, too, imho.)
Roswitha Olive
Roswitha Fern (ok, I think I'm getting too botanical here, lol)
Roswitha Nell
Roswitha Blanche
Any catch your fancy? ;o)

I meant to tell you that I finally watched V the other day with my boyfriend. I was thinking of you ahah.
As for your combos-
Roswitha Hazel- I like it in theory, but not in prn.
Roswitha Edith- Too much "th"
Roswitha Mary- Lovely!
Roswitha Ruby- Lovely.
Roswitha Emma- You? Emma? Huh. NMS.
Roswitha Clare / Roswitha Clair- Cute, but I don't think they flow.
Roswitha's a tough one. I like Hazel the best with it.
And about your eight names-
Evening- Love love love!
Ruxandra- Can't like it yet, sorry.
Mercedes- J'adore! I've always loved this one. This is my favorite out of your list.
Katharine- Prefer Catherine.
Scarlet Carson- V much? ;) I'd be okay with this if you just called her Scarlet, but I don't think you would. I met eleven year old twin girls the other day named Carson and Selene (I checked the spellings in a program of the play they were in)
Pandora- Cute, but too "boxy"
Roswitha-NMS, sorrrryyy
Valerie- I'm loving this lately!

Congratulations! The fact that you didn't mention whether or not you liked it leads me to believe that I might not want to ask. ;) Which is totally cool, natch--it won't hurt my feelings.
Roswitha Emma- You? Emma? Huh. NMS.
A great-grandmother and a great-great-aunt or something--one on the paternal side, one on the maternal side. And as a middle name, it feels slightly less tryndee. Just an experiment, if you will. ;)
I'd be okay with this if you just called her Scarlet, but I don't think you would.
'Fraid not. As I have said on other occasions, I don't really like Scarlet or Carson--I like Scarlet Carson, though if I had one and she really wanted to be called Scarlet, I'd probably acquiesce. ;)

I think Roswitha is very sweet, and the nicknames you suggested are even "Sweeta". :)
I came up with a few combos that I like...They all have a prominent vowel sound that I think sounds nice with this name:
Roswitha Ena
Roswitha Eowyn
Roswitha Aina
Roswitha Elora
Roswitha Louise
Roswitha Enore
I also like single syllable names to go with Roswitha such as:
Roswitha Mae
Roswitha Jane
Roswitha June
Roswitha Ayn
Roswitha Bea
Roswitha Shay
Roswitha Elle
What do you think?

I think that was a sweet idea, although I am not a fan of Violet.
I dont like Roswitha, sorry.
