Lillian

Hi, Oceane ~
For years, I did not like Lillian; it sounded like an "old lady" name to me. I felt the same about Lucinda, but now I think both names are lovely.
Lily is ok as a nn, I guess, but then again, I'm not really a nickname person...

I like Lilian, Liliana, Lilia, and Lily.
I don't care for the spelling Lillian because of all the Ls. Two are unnecessary in this name, and since the name starts with L, it's borderline absurd. It reminds me of 'Lilliputian' - not just a little bit. It just looks kind of frumpy and silly to me, in a way that Lilian doesn't.
Lilian & Peter - Great.
Lilian & Julia - Good, I think esp. if Lilian is called Lily, and Julia is not called Julie.

My father's mother, who has passed away, was named Lillian. My mom always tells me that I should name a daughter Lillian one day 1) to honor my grandmother, and 2) because it's such a pretty name.
I do actually like it, but wouldn't use it myself. I think it sounds pretty. I like it spelled Lillian. The nn Lily is great.
