I think I finally found some names I love for girls. Not sure if my boyfriend would like, but I am just happy its not completely hopeless like I thought.
I am starting to love Hawaiian names! I always like
Kai for a boy, and after the recent discovery of
Maile, I have taken a great interest in them. The problem is, I am unsure how to pn a lot of them, and growing up with a speech problem (still sometimes stumbling over odd or unnatural sounds, especially in forgien languages and Hawaiian isnt exactly English based - Its asia if I am not mistaken.)
Anyway - here are two questions. I know some people have really strong opinions about this, so what do you think of using Hawaiian names when I (or my to-be-husband) have nothing connecting us to Hawaii (we've never even been there). Also, my sons will have names such as
Miles,
Lucas,
Elijah,
William - do you think Hawaiian names for the girls and more trendy English names for the boys is too different. I am not one to care too much about sibsets as long as its not too close, but its just a thought.
And two: What are some Hawaiian names you love, that are a little easy to say (please add pn). I have a (very) small list of them already, so I would give ideas, but I am not on my regular computer so the list is not reachable.
Maile (pn MY-lee) and I know
Alana is also on the list for some idea of easy speaking names
Thanks for all the suggestions and answers to my first question.
