Pronounciation of Elena and Eva
If you saw the names Elena and Eva, how would you immediately pronounce them? I always assumed Eva was always pronounced ee-vuh, but now more and more I have heard of people pronouncing it eh-vuh. I personally like it both ways, but I was just wondering what you thought would be more likely. As for Elena, I know this can go more directions. I thought is was uh-lay-nuh (like Elaina) but now I am hearing people say eh-leh-nuh along with other variations similar to those as well. Again, I like all of the pronounciations, but I am curious to hear what people's immediate reactions are. Thanks!

I say EE-vah for Eva.I usually say eh-LEH-nah, but lately I've been liking EH-leh-nah. eh-LAY-nah is the usual pronounciation in the US, I think.

Elena: I say eh-LAY-nuh or eh-LENN-uh - as with Helena, I'd have to askEva: I always say EE-vah

First of all I'm Dutch, so this isn't the English pronounciation, but I say:Elena - ay-LAY-nah / eh-LAY-nah
