Re: Antoinette
in reply to a message by Alyia
I like Antoinette. A cousin of mine is Adelaide Antoinette (nn Addie). I always liked Mr. Rochester's first wife's name, Bertha Antoinetta. For the mn, you want to avoid anything too fou-fou because of the Marie-Antoinette* image. How about:Antoinette Alice (I like the alliteration)
Antoinette Verity
Antoinette Lily
Antoinette Sophie
Antoinette Lydia
Antoinette Lucy / Lucie
Antoinette Rosalind
Antoinette Blythe
Antoinette Christine
Antoinette Ines
Antoinette Pascale
Antoinette Thais
Antoinette Pearl
Antoinette Willa
Antoinette Phoebe
Antoinette Diane
OK, so maybe some of these are more fou-fou than not. I'm finding this a difficult task. I love KMF's suggestion of Antoinette Sylvia, by the way. Antoinette Sylvie would also be nice.
*I've read Ms. Frasier's biography of Marie-Antoinette and believe she's more of a scape-goat than a villan. But I'm afraid most people still have the negative association with the name. I still think you should use it, just be careful.

ThanksThese are great! :) You did had a better go at it than I did, haha, I came up with nada.I didn't ever see Marie Antoinette as a villan, I was interested in her in school, but I do think a lot of people associate the name strictly with her as opposed to a name that someone might consider using. I don't mind the association completely, just..part of it? I don't quite know.
