Annelise
My Nana's name is Annette nn Anne and I am Elise. For my first daughter I will honour my nana some how (either by calling her Anne or with the mn Annette).
So I was thinking, what about Annelise nn Anne? Do you think this is a good way to honour my Nana? Is it too egocentric or something to use my name as well? I figure if men can do it, I don't see why I can't but I am worried how it would be perceived.
Any combo suggestions for Anne or Annelise?
Thanks :)

I love the name Annelise. If you can connect this name to a member of your family or some kind of naming tradition - even better. It makes me laugh, reading the names people come up with on this site - ie. Ruby Whirlwind!!! There are many ridiculous, ugly, or just awful names people seem to plan to inflict on their future children, just so they can say it's "unique". If noboby uses these names, there's a very good reason for it! Annelise is a beautiful, classic name, and I think your thought process in naming your child after your Nan and to include your own name is a very sound one.
I quite like the name Annelise, and know a lovely little girl with that name and spelling. However having said that, I find that particular spelling is too similar with the word Annelids... which is the scientific name for a group of flat worms. So I prefer the spelling Annaliese, Annalise or Anneliese.
No I don't think it is egocentric naming a child after yourself. Especially as your name will only be part of her name.
Though I do know a woman called Georgina Hope, who named her two youngest daughters, Hope Georgina, and Ginia Hope... That's egocentric...

I don't think it's egocentric to include your name in the combo. And personally, I much prefer Annelise to most other forms of Anne, I think it is a very pretty name.
