Mera or Vera
A few years ago I fell in love with the name mera (except spelled with an extra e, Meera), but I ended up getting over the name. Suddenly, about 2 months ago, I stummbled upon the name Vera (pronounced Veer a) it was on a billboard. Anyway then I realized (quite awhile after the realization of the beauty of the name Vera) how similar Mera and Vera are, so I wanted to know what you all think; which sounds better? Do you like either of them? Also, what mn would sound good with either?Side point: wdyt of the name Arden for a girl? I'm not sure.

Meera / Mira is gorgeous, I don't care for the spelling Mera though.Vera is also very pretty, I prefer the pronunciation VEER-a over VER-a.I adore the name Arden! It's beautiful : )

I prefer Vera, but I pronounce it VER-a.But Mera / Meera are nice, too. I prefer the spellings Meera and Mira, though.I suppose Arden is fair game for girls, but it doesn't seem particularly feminine to me, I'm afraid. Actually, it doesn't seem particularly masculine, either-- just a surname in my eyes, really.

I prefer Vera to Mera, but if I had to go with Mera, I'd use the Meera or -- even better -- Mira spellings. Vera is beautiful.Arden is not a name I would choose, but it's rather pretty. I like the sound of it. I'm surprised at myself. It's not really trendy, but it's outside my comfort zone. I think it's a name I like, but for now on someone else's kid. :)Potential Vera MNs:
Vera Rosemary
Vera Pearl
Vera Adeline
Vera Caroline
Vera Meredith
Vera Louise
Vera Theresa
Vera Evelyn (love!)Any you like?Magnanimous Despair alone could show me so divine a thing, where feeble hope could ne'er have flown, but vainly flapped its tinsel wing.

Mera is pretty, but I dislike this spelling. I prefer Mira. Vera is also nice. BTW Arden seems fine for a girl.

I prefer Vera, but only slightly. Meera (I like Mira better) is also very pretty.I actually kind of like Arden. It's different, but nice.

A few years ago I had a thing for all things Indian. On a tv show I saw the name Meera for the daughter of an Indian couple, so for that reason I loved the name spelled that way. It is kind of odd.

Well, I love Vera. Vera Isabelle is one of my favorite combos. But I am also really liking Mira a lot lately, which is just a different spelling of Meera. I cant decide which is my favorite either.I want to like Arden, love the meaning of it, but it just doesnt sound that nice. It's kind of awkward to say. * Elle *~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I don't really like either of them, but if I had to choose between them then I like Vera much better.Arden has been growing on me lately. I don't quite like it, but I don't not like it. It's okay.Kristen~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Vera was my grandmother's name, so I'm biased. But I love the sound of it. It packs alot of energy into a four letter name. It deserves a come-back as a name. I like Mira, but the Mera / Meera spelling strikes me as odd, sorry. Arden is OK as a mn. It reminds me of the forest of Arden in "As You Like It." Literary references in names are always a plus. :-)
