It reminds me of the plant Oleander, which is poisonous.
That's why we have Leandra. I don't really like it, but it's properly feminine.
Leander could work on a girl, I guess--since I think of Oleander as feminine, and it's just a letter away--but I'd rather see it on a boy.

Gorgeous! On a boy, though. The ending -ander does mean "man" after all.
