Leigh or Lee
Replies
I like the name, it's cute, but it also works for an adult. I prefer the spelling Lee for a girl.
I like Leigh for a girl. In fact, I went through a phase in high school where I wished I had been named Leigh Anne or Leigh Anna. Here in the South, it was a common combo in the 60's and 70's. I've known quite a few with varied spellings (Leigh Anne, Leigh Anna, Lee Ann, Lee Anne, Leanna, etc.).
Today, I much prefer something like Leah.

Love them both as full names

Lee for a boy, Leigh for a girl, is how I feel. I think it holds up really nicely as a first name, really. It's a bit dated, but that adds to the charm--she'd be the only Leigh in her class. :)
Have you thought about combos? I like the idea of:
Leigh Claudia
Leigh Guinnevere
Leigh Shoshana
Leigh Stella
Leigh Meryl
Leigh Cassandra
Leigh Adele
Leigh Fidelia
Leigh Thomasina
Leigh Petula
Leigh Georgina
Leigh Violet

Leigh Claudia looks so pretty! I really like the idea of it with a longer, very feminine middle name - I'm always like that with unisex names that I like, such as Harper. Leigh Cassandra, Leigh Violet and Leigh Shoshana all have a great sound to them too.
Hmm...I'm also liking the sound of Leigh Genevieve (though I'm pretty sure you're not a Genevieve fan, right?) and Leigh Victoria, given that Victoria is a family name that I plan to use on one of my kids :-) How about:
Leigh Persephone
Leigh Magnolia (too much, with the two 'lee' sounds?)
Leigh Amaryllis
Leigh Ariadne
Leigh Esperanza
Leigh Jocasta
Leigh Calliope
Leigh Adelaide
Leigh Carolina
Leigh Valentina
Any other suggestions would be much appreciated, as would comments on the above!
Ooh, another question - how do you think a double middle name would work with Leigh? Eg Leigh Victoria Margot...too much?

I love Lee...
But always want to pronounce Leigh as "Lay". I don't much like the spelling anyway. But I do like Lee, even if I prefer it for a boy. :)

Leigh is all-girl imo, while Lee can really go either way. I personally prefer Leigh. It just looks more feminine to me.
I only like it as a MN. It's just one of those names that seems more suitable as a MN.

i love Leigh!
I suppose Leigh, just because it's longer. I love it.
Well deffinately for a girl I would use the Leigh spelling, it's just more feminine looking to me, though Lea would be even better! It has had a pretty sound to me too lately, a little classy yet sweet. It would make a nice nickname but I think it would be alright as a full first name too. :)
