I don't like using same initials or same first name similarities for twins. Other than that, I feel any names that works for the families works for the kids. I don't think that names of the same style are that big of a deal, after all most parents use them for sibsets anyway - why not for twins?

I'd probably go for either names of a similar style or completely individual names. Using the same initials or having both first names start with the same letter wouldn't be out of the question if I really loved the names but similar sounding names and variants on the same name are a complete no-no, to me at least. I reckon twins will have a hard enough time cementing their own individuality without having names that are practically the same. This is what I'd name twins at the moment.

If it were b/g I would use Ella & Louis after Ms. Fitzgerald and Mr. Armstrong. I guess that could count under naming style. Otherwise I'd just use individual names. I've not known many twins. The only ones I remember were Richard & Michael, so pretty dissimilar. My friend said his cousins were both Peter & Peter. I don't know w why or how they worked with the same names!

I would name my twins as if they were singletons. Whatever the next two names me and my spouse would have picked would be my twins' names.

I have best friends whom are twins. Their names are Maria and Helena. Helena is pron huh-LEIGH-na. I think that these names complement eachother. If it was just a singleton baby her name would be Helena Maria, so they just split the name for their twins. That is how I would name my twins.

I can't stand parents that give their kids really similar names or rhymey names like Marilyn and Carolyn or something. I am generally okay with same initials as long as the parents really loved the names and it wasn't done on purpose (for eg. I love the names Connor and Caoimhe on their own, so even though they both start with C I would possibly use them for twins)
I also hate it when parents give boy and girl twins the same name but in male and female versions such as Paul and Pauline.

I don't have a problem with similar styles such as Amanda and Danielle. I really like Susannah and Noah for twins which are a similar style but I think great for twins.

I don't know enough sets of twins to be able to say anything about trends in naming them. Personally I'd give twins whatever two names I liked most. I don't think I would purposefully make them "twinny," but if you find my taste boring, literary, old-fashioned, or whatever else you very well might think I was aiming for a theme. My very favorite names tend to reflect a similar style anyway, I think, so if I named twins they'd probably be more alike than otherwise. I wouldn't use completely different styles because that's not what I am into, you know? It'd be too darn bad for them if they thought Elizabeth and Rachael somehow constituted ungodly themey twin names. :-)

I would jus pick my favorite names for girls or boys regardless of how they go or don't go together. For example, I wouldn't want to compromise on naming a b/g twinset Linus Eliakim / Lucine Mariana just because of Linus and Lucy of the peanuts comic strip. I would not go out of my way to make them match, or to make them not match.

I'd definitely go original. Totally different styles, cause they're different people.

Most of the twins I know have either very similar sounding names, the same initials, or both. I am an identical twin and my sister and I have very similar sounding names that start with the same letter. I'm probably biased, but I like twins with similar names. So I ever have twins, they would have the same initials.

I know someone who named her twins Chad and Chelsea.

I wouldn't name twins anything I wasn't willing to name singletons so no same initials or rhyming/similar sounding names. Similar style of name doesn't bother me much because if that's the style of names the parents like then that's the kind of name they're going to use regardless of whether the children are twins or singletons.

I think Milo and Linus are fine for brothers but I disagree that they are completely individual names. I think they are similar styles. Both names have two syllables, the same cadence and the same vowel sound in the first syllable. But since I see no problem with giving children similar style names I see no problem with Milo and Linus.

In general I really like alliteration sibling sets. So I would chose the same initials for the first names (not necessarily for the middle names)
