I have a friend called Noor, but when speaking to her in Arabic, her relatives call her Nura. I definitely think Nura is prettier ... It's got a lovely meaning either way._____________________________________________________________________Elinor

I think it's beautiful as a female name (which is how I tend to think of it, even though it's unisex). Noor and Fatima have long been my two favorite Arabic names and probably favorites in general. One of my favorite combos that I'd be too intimidated to use is Miriam Noor. As a male name, though, it doesn't have much appeal to me. :-/
