Shannon
A name that has been on my favorites list since I first became interested in names is Shannon. What do you think of it? As with most of the unisex names that I like, I prefer it as a boy's name (in fact this name is on my favorites list for a boy, and it's a name that I would consider using if I were to have a son in the future). However, in my opinion Shannon isn't as bad on a girl as some of the other unisex names that I like (since this name is etymologically unisex); in fact if it weren't for the tendency of unisex names to become feminine this name would likely be a "true unisex" name to me, i.e. one that I would consider using either way.

I prefer it for girls, probably because I've never met a boy named Shannon. I do like the name quite a bit though ^_^;.

I think Shannon's nice on either sex, though I, too, prefer it for a boy. I think of Shannon Hoon, who had a fabulous voice (he was the lead singer of Blind Melon--you know, "No Rain"?) and probably would have gone far if not for his overdose.Array

I think of Shannon as being more of a girl's name, but I don't dislike it on a boy.

I prefer it on a girl (it's really starting to grow on me for a girl, actually), but it's all right for a boy too.

I love Shannon on a boy better, but I like it on a girl too.

I agree with you. I like Shannon, I prefer it on a boy, but it's not bad on a girl. To me it really is a unisex name, not like Riley for instance which to me is not unisex, but a boys name sometimes used on girls.Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
