Darn, I adore Wilhelmina and Minerva. Usually, Minnie is from variants of William such as Wilhelmina, Minette, Minetta . . . there are others but I can't think of them off the top of my head. Others that you might like:Dominique

I know some of these are a stretch. But nns are the place for creativity and whimsy, to me. I can see older siblings not being able to pronounce a newborn's name such as the ones above and coming out with "Minnie."
