Lute makes me think of "loot" so I'll vote 'no' on that one. :-/
I like Lark, preferably for a girl though I wouldn't mind at all seeing it on a boy. It's pretty much a GP for me, though; not something I'd ever use IRL, I don't think. Makes me think of the phrase 'on a lark' and is just a little abrupt, imo. However, I love Larkin for a boy, preferably as a nn for Lawrence. :)
