Well, a couple years ago, a young couple moved into our neighborhood. The mother was born and raised in the next valley over – obviously with Scandinavian roots, with very blonde hair, very blue eyes, and very fair skin. The father was an African/American and had the black hair and brown skin.
That's not what this is about though – they had 2-year-old twin girls. One of the girls had inherited the mother's Caucasian skin and blonde hair, while her twin was darker skinned and had the black hair, as well. The little white girl was named
Ebony, and the little black girl was named
Ivory.
I think they are perfectly beautiful names, very uncommon as well. I don't want to come off as racist in any way, but I also think it's a great way to express their biracial heritage. What do you think, of the names themselves, and the reason why they are named that?
