HelpRe: Heather? WDYT?

Well, it's my name so I guess I should say something about it. :b
I was born in 1976, right around the time it hit really big. Most of the Heathers I know are at least 2 years younger than me, but maybe it just didn't get popular in the area until closer to the 1980s, lol. When I was growing up, though, I rarely had a Heather in my class, but when I got into college and work situations with more of a mix of age groups, all the Heathers started coming out of the woodwork. :-/ I currently work with THREE other Heathers. Oy.
Other than the popularity and the somewhat-bimbo stereotype, I actually love my name. I didn't when I was growing up, because it was so popular--and I was constantly being confused for a Jennifer. *rolls eyes* Then the movie Heathers came out, and even though I like the movie and think it's hilarious, it's not the most positive assocation. :) But when I started getting more interested in names, esp. 5 years ago or so, I started appreciating it as a flower name, and a flower that grows in the U.K., which is great because I have a great fondness for all things Scottish/Irish/British/Welsh. LOL.
It's also fun to find colors of paint and clothing, and different fragrances, that have 'heather' in the title. My best friend even stole a sign from Costco in Canada for heather plants and gave it to me. (She's a dork, but I love her. ANd I still have that damn sign!) So, it's not a name I'd really advise for others to use nowadays just because it's lumped into those 1970s-80s names that really date us to that time period. But I can appreciate as it being my name, at least.
BTW, I'm very glad my mn is not Lynn, Ann, Marie, or Nicole. I haven't met many (any?) Heathers that didn't have one of those middle names. Mine is Georgette--which I hated growing up but I now appreciate as well. :)
