Angel
I have a strange kinda connection to this as the name for a baby girl. Would anyone consider using it, or should I just stick with it as a cute nick name for any futore daughter I may have!!!?

I have a connection to this name as well--I was a nanny for a special needs child named Angelisa "Angel". I would probably hate the name if it weren't for her, but I really find it to be very sweet because of the association. :) I prefer Angel over Angelisa, though. And I know an Angela who goes by Angel. I think I'd prefer Angela, Angelica, or Angelina with the nn Angel instead of just Angel as a formal name. Gives her something to 'fall back on' that's a little more mature sounding. Ya know? :b

I like it as a nn for Angelina or Angelica. I don't mind it as a full name for a little girl, but that same little girl is going to grow into a woman and then I think the name will seem somewhat silly.

I don't like it as a girl's full name.I think of Angel by itself as a male name because of it's popularity among Hispanic males, and the TV show "Angel".I think it would be fine for a girl as a nickname, though. How about:
Angeline
Angelina
Angelica
Angela
Angelia
Angelique
Evangeline
AngelitaThat way you could call her Angel, but she'd have other options if she wanted them.

I can only speak for myself, I can't say "Well, you shold not use this or you should use that."
I don't like the name Angel as it strikes me as very cutesy and sickly-sweet. Also a bit tacky,it's a favorite of strippers and centerfold types.
But if you want to use it, I'd rather it be used as the given name or a nn for Angela/Angelina and like that, rather than just a nn for some non-Angelic name. When a girl named say, Brenda or Joanne is called Angel, it sounds a lot like when people call their daughters Kitten or Princess.

I hear ya!How could it work as a middle name. Do you like Megan Angel Elise?

no I don'tDon't go in for two middle names, don't like Megan, don't like Elise. But Angel could make a decent middle name for another fn. And Angel Elise is a mouthful of l's.

Thanks, but I've loved Megan since I was about 12 so no one's gonna change my mind on that in a million years!! And Elise goes beautifully.
