Yawn. Time to move on from Dakota, people naming babies!
It's not something I'd consider noteworthy enough to get worked up over, though. She'll survive being a Dakota, just like the thousands of others.
As for what I personally think of the name...I dislike it immensely. I think it'd be great for a pet, but not for a human being. My sister had a stuffed husky dog she named Dakota, because she got it on our trip to South Dakota, and I always thought that was a nice use of the name.
