Dakota

I don't like it, and I dislike that it's so popular. But I wouldn't cry for her. There are far worse situations than having a tacky name.

Why? I love Dakota on a girl!
It's *way* overdone.
I can think of names I'd like to carry less than this, but this definitely isn't something that appeals to me. This name seems to be everywhere--on boys, girls, dogs, whatever else--and it's getting very boring. Her parent(s) lack of creativity is disappointing.

I wouldn't bother crying for her. It's a well-accepted name, so it won't cause her any angst in life. Dakota does seem rather silly though.

Argh! Dakota is one of my least-favourite names in the world. It's so faux-Native American tryndee. I really loathe it.
Hideous. I intensely dislike it. Even if it weren't a place, I don't think it's a pretty name.
I like Dakota on a boy. It's a guilty pleasure. I had a friend in elementary school named Dakota, and I always loved his name. We actually just got back in touch about a year ago, and he's a cool person, so I've got a positive connotation with it. I've always been irritated that it's so popular.

I only like it because that Dakota Fanning is so gosh darn cute.
Okay. It's a GP. I'd never ever use it and I'm probably subconsiously over it by now.

I don't know, I thought it was going out of style. I just don't like it because it was VERY popular for awhile.
Yawn. Time to move on from Dakota, people naming babies!
It's not something I'd consider noteworthy enough to get worked up over, though. She'll survive being a Dakota, just like the thousands of others.
As for what I personally think of the name...I dislike it immensely. I think it'd be great for a pet, but not for a human being. My sister had a stuffed husky dog she named Dakota, because she got it on our trip to South Dakota, and I always thought that was a nice use of the name.

A revolution without dancing is a revolution not worth having.
