Clara
Do you like Clara? More or less than Claire/Clare?
I like Clara more. I like two syllable names more than one I think. It allows more to flow with it.

We had picked Claire for a girl, so of course I love it. To me this spelling is much better than Clare, which seems masculine.
Clara is pretty too, but a little old-fashioned.I love how Claire means "clear," and toyed with something like Stella (star) or Celeste (celestial or sky) to complete the theme. Couldn't come up with a combo that worked, though, so settled on Claire Elizabeth or Claire Marie.

I like Clara much better. I even like the spelling Claira. I don't like Clare at all. I think it has to do with the Breakfast Club.Britney Tamber

I like Clara, but I think I prefer Clare -- it's so simple and understated. Clara is very nice, but it's frillier.-- Sarah

I think that Clara is a nice name (and I like it about the same as Claire; I think both forms are great).

Clara is fine, although it has a slight "old-fashioned" feel; it also reminds me of Heidi. It is slightly better than Claire, which I like best as a mn.

I love Clare, and while I don't dislike it, I'm not overly fond of Clara. It's pretty, but my love of Clare is too strong. I don't think it has a great flow in and of itself, and I have a mental voice image of an old lady screaming CLARRR-UH! (emphasis on the "AR" sound) sort of like the neighbor used to scream "Abner" on the TV show Bewitched, if that helps. :)

Wrong place, or is this for me?In the off chance it is in reply to my post, then I love the spelling Clare because of a dear woman I know. :)

I love Clara, but only if pronounced KLAR-a. I like KLAIR-a, all right, but KLAR-a is just much mroe appealing to me. it's a lovely name in any case, and I also like Claire (prefer Clara).

I love Clara and Claire. I think I'd use Clara before Claire, though. I just like how it sounds sort of Southern. Names with an old-fashioned, Southern flair are good imo. =)

I LOVE the name Clara. I like Claire, but it's not nearly as nice as Clara imo. It's old-fashioned but not unheard of or terribly outdated to me. It's also easy to spell and pronounce, etc. I've liked it since I was a little girl and saw The Nutcracker ballet. :)

Clara is lovely, and I also like Claire.

I love Clara, and I also love Claire and Claira. Claira spelled this way makes more sense to me; I have a tendency to pronounce Clara "CLAHR-a" and Claira "CLAIRE-a".

I like Clara because it's less used than Claire in my opinion and it does have a pretty sound.
