Aleksandra/Aleksander
What's your opinion on Aleksandra and Aleksander? How do you feel about the "ks" as opposed to the "x" ?
Replies
I love both. The "ks" is fine if it's culturally justified only.
I like both, but only for someone of easten Europe or of eastern European descent. The X is fine as well.

I love the name Aleksandra! :) There's something about it that I find so appealing. The name is gorgeous imo, and the variation of Alexandra is lovely. I also love the name Alexandra, though.
Aleksander is okay, but I'd say that I prefer Alexander. Not sure why, I love Aleksandra, but just find Aleksander okay. They're both very nice though :)

To be honest, while I like the names Alexander and Alexandra well enough, they're a bit dull to me. But I find Aleksander and Aleksandra to be a bit more refreshing, and I don't feel particularly guilty liking these alternative spellings, as they're at least legitimate. :P
On the other hand, an actual child would have spelling problems in life. But, looking at the names themselves? Totally cool.
(Also, while I like the Aleksander spelling, my personal favorite is Aleksandr.)

I think if you are of a nationality that would use the "ks" versus the "x" than they are fine. But for me, as an English speaker of non-Russian, Slovenian, etc., heritage, I think it's kind of dumb, especially as the kid's name will probably always be mis-spelled.

The X makes the name.
It would be good on someone from the eastern part of Europe (or with that heritage). I prefer the X spelling on people from anywhere else, the ks looks a bit 'wrong' to me, just like something like Sharlene would look wrong.
