Bush twins
President Bush's twin daughters have very different (un-twin-like) names : Jenna and Barbara (after her grandma). Do you like this combination? Is Jenna an ok full name (its not a nickname)? WDYT?

Both named after their Grandmothers ...
which gives significance to the names and lessens my instinct to hate the combo

Bush is a thoroughly unfortunate surname, and the alliteration in Barbara's case only draws further attention to it. Besides, I strongly dislike Barbara. Apart from the "barb" sound being plain and unattractive, it sounds (and is related to) "barbaric". I don't find recently dated names at all refreshing: they are still too overused, just not amongst people the child's own age. Bleh.
The name Jenna has no substance to it, and really no meaning without stretching Jennifer's over. I think "bleh" to it too ...

Neither name appeals to me, although I respect the decision to use family names. I do DEFINITELY appreciate not using rhymey or alliterative twin names, also.

The children were named after both gradmothers. Which is odd, considering that Jenna's so modern and slick sounding while Barbara's a somewhat dated, staid classic.
I like both names, but I prefer Jennifer or Janet, nn Jenna. (Jenny was originally a nn for Janet, and was later Latinised as Jenna.) In fact, I wish the Bushes would've gone with Janet and Barbara, thus indirectly naming Jenna after her grandmother, because Janet and Barbara go together much better than Jenna and Barbara imo.

I don't like either of them.
I love Barbara, but I don't like Jenna much--whereas Barbara is clearly a classic, Jenna is trendy and a bit twee. I don't think they go well together, but I also don't find "going together" especially important.

I always thought the names seemed really mismatched, though they do come from the same generation (the girls' grandmothers). Jenna seems so modern and trendy while Barbara is a bit stodgy. I won't comment on the girls' lack of moral standards :).
I don't like Bush or any of his family, but I think his daughters have really nice names. And Jenna is a great full name. I've never heard it being used s a nickname.
I love Jenna, not so crazy about Barbara. I think they sound very odd together-one is modern, one old fashioned seeming. But both girls are named after their grandmothers so that makes it very nice.
I like the combo :).
yes.
