Re: Middle names for Marie (and one other thought)
Marie Karenina is really pretty--but I couldn't possibly take it as a combo until I finally read Anna Karenina. I'd feel like an imposter up until that point, hehe.Marie Stardust~ Very snazzy. :)
Marie Kitten~ I'm not sure how I feel about Kitten as a name (one I'll have to give consideration), but it reminds me of one that I loved back in elementary school, Sanura. It was listed in one of my parents' baby name books as being Swahili for "kitten," and cats have always been my favourite animal, so I latched on to it immediately. Marie Sanura? :D
Marie Bliss~ Problem with Bliss is that I equate it more with Ecstasy and Orgasm than with, say, Happy or Blythe. :(
Marie Aster / Astrud / Astrophel~ Hmm...Maybe Marie Astrid? Aster sounds strange when I say it, and Astrophel has sounds like the picture of masculinity to me.
Marie Denim~ I'd be lying if I said I didn't like how this sounded. I'm not sure I'm brave enough to use Denim, but Marie Denim has a very cool sound.
Marie Saffronia~ I really like this.
Marie Vesper~ I used to call my youngest sister, among other things, Vesper, actually! So it's almost like a family name, lol.
Marie Hazelen~ I'd have to spell it Marie Hazellen, I think. :D I really like the sound.
Marie Vaughan~ Oh. Just...oh. I like it.
Marie Patrice~ I'm not sure how I feel about Patrice. It's a bit...dunno what.
Marie Josephine~ And besides the fabulous Ms. Baker, Josephine March! :D I like this.
Marie Ida~ The rhythm of this one doesn't quite appeal to me.
Marie Charmian~ Nah, not too hoity-toity. I was mostly hoping to avoid names like Marie Alexandria with the "no hoity-toity" thing. :D I like my names sounding like I'd want to be friends with them, you know? And, of course, I'd be friends with a Marie Alexandria if we got along, but...:D I'm just not sure how much I like Charmian.
Marie Charmaine~ Same as Charmian, I think. It's really neat for someone else, but it doesn't feel right to me.
Marie Merritt~ I like Merit best for a boy, but it does have its appeal for a girl, too. :)
Marie Blanche~ Ah, I love Blanche, and I'm pretty sure no one else does. ;D It sounds so pretty to me.
Marie Cassidy~ Cassidy has never appealed to me all that much, but Cassandra (and nns Cass and Kassy) does. Marie Cassandra? Too smarmy sounding? Marie Kassy doesn't flow in any way, shape, or form, unfortunately--Marie Cass isn't quite right, either.
Marie Valaida~ Valaida? I've never heard this before! Tell me about it, please? It sounds really lovely--like Vidalia or Veranda or Ardelia or something. :D It's the kind of name that appeals to me--kinda folksy, with an I'm-not-following-the-rules-nyah-nyah kind of charm.
Marie Delores~ On the one hand, Dolores (I think I prefer it to Delores, since Dolores is much more easily nn'ed Dolly) is wonderfully singable: "He says, 'Dolores, I live in fear. My love for you is so overpowering that I think I might disappear.'" (or whatever it is--you know, hehe.) On the other hand...Dolores Umbridge (oh, my God, you look like a frog!). But Paul Simon is winning out between the two. :)
Marie Bailey Pearl~ Pearl is one that I prefer for other people, though I find it extremely handsome, and Bailey has always sounded like a dog to me.
Marie Delia / Delilah~ Love Delia and most other -elia names. Delilah, I'm not so sure about.
Marie Bleu Maxine~ Bleu is cheese, though! Can't name a baby after a salad dressing I refuse to eat, lol. I love Maxine, though. I think that Maxine nn Mack (I don't like Max all that much) would be extremely cool.
Marie Fern~ Oh, and I love Fern. Dunno how I feel about the rhythm, though. So many suggestions! You know, I'm going to have to just start making new Word files for each name I like and come up with dozens of combos for each. I like it better when I have lots of ideas. :DThanks. :)Array

"Yes," said Laura.A revolution without dancing is a revolution not worth having.

I'm so glad I tickled your fancy! :oDMy favorite combos for you (!) are:
Marie Stardust (I think it suits your bohemian personality)
Marie Denim (it's quirky...and fabulous. What's more to say?)
Marie Saffronia (sounds almost elegant, but then it makes you go, "Huh?" I love that!)
Marie Vesper (it's practically a *family* name. Oh, you MUST use it!)
Marie Hazellen (dusty-musty qualities...excellent potential)
Marie Vaughan (I like this one for me, too!)
Marie Blanche (ditto...I like Blanche as well...and Bianca and Blanca...)
Marie Valaida (it's got a homespun, functional folk-art feel to it...as you mentioned) Oh, and here's all I know about Valaida (the name & the person): http://www.jazzhot.bigstep.com/generic13.html
Marie Dolores (ditto w/Hazellen)
You mean *looks left, then right, leans forward, and lowers voice to a whisper* you don't already have Word files for each name? *clears throat and resumes normal speaking volume* Oh, uh, neither do I. Wouldn't even consider it... :oDD
