Twins I knew
A couple of years ago, I took care of twin baby girls named Marsella and Ashley. To me, their names did not "go" together at all. Marsella (yes, it was spelled thay way, not Marcella) seemed more old-fashioned, while Ashley seemed modern.
WDYT?
Anyone else known twins whose names seemed almost at odds?

I have a twin sister named Maisie, I've always kind of felt that they went pretty well together.
When we were growing up we used to live right next door to twin boys who were a few years younger than us, they were named Whitney and Thomas and I always felt that Whitney was pretty feminine whereas Thomas always seemed more masculine.

I don't think twins or siblings have to match, it's nice when they have their own distinct names. There's nothing wrong with Marsella (although I'd prefer Marcella) and Ashley.
As far as twin names with clashing styles, I'd have to nominate Jenna and Barbara Bush. Jenna is modern while Barbara is very dated. I know they were both named after their grandmothers, but the idea of a grandmother-aged Jenna seems very strange! Twins Jenna and Barbara bother me, but not so much because of the clashing styles - I just really dislike the name Barbara, and the use of Jenna as a sibling seems to intensify how dated it is.

I agree, most twins have names with a similar style. I find those names are very different and I don't think they're great together but I suppose its better than names which are too similar and rhyme with each other. The twins I knew, I thought they're names were ok together but here they are:
Steven and Amanda
Philip and Michael
Thomas and Michael
Keri and Lauren
Natalie and Nicole

I don't nessecarily believe that a set of twins needs to have names that really "go." I think its nice when they fit together but I don't really appriciate it when a set of twis is like Joseph and Josiah. I mean they are already looking the same and most likely being treated the same, so I think that they probably want some difference in their lives from each other. Marsella and Ashley I think are okay together, but I do understand your point!
i like marcella but i dont think id pair it with ashley. id prolly pair with madison...marcie and maddie
Imo Marsella and Ashley don't fit as a twin combo. No, no, no...
