Which is why I'd probably avoid a name that had a nn I really didn't like. For example I like the name
Victoria, but I really dislike both
Vicky and
Tori. Because a nn would be likely to happen anyway, by
Victoria's own choosing even, I'd rather just start with a different name.
My parents named me
Jennifer and I'm sure never dreamed I would end up going by
Jo. (J.O. are my initials). But nns happen, and it's often the ones you don't think of that turn out to be the best ones.
