which may seem very weird, that a French name reminds me of a Dutch actor, but he starred in an American movie, LadyHawke, playing a fictitious French knight named Etienne de Navarre. Etienne is on my favorites list in his honor. :D

coureur des bois Étienne Brûlé, a relatively significant historical figure in Great Lakes region history. I think he was something of a traitor and was beaten to death by the Hurons. :-/

Aside from that unfortunate connection, which really is the overshadowing impression of the name in my mind since I'm big on this area's history, I think it's a nice name.

I've always liked it. It's a very nice French name.

It's a great French name, but if you are living in US, it doesn't sound the same with an American accent. Sounds like "A T N" when americans say it. (I'm American, so I mean no offense to anyone."

I've always loved it. It' very elegant, but also somehwat eccentric (in the good way). It's one of my favourite French masculine names.
