I think Candace just needs a bit more time to rest, and that's why it's unpopular. Most Candaces I know are around my age, in their 40s. I can see how someone very young might like it, if they don't know any Candaces, but it's a very boring name to me. Interestingly, despite knowing a ton of Candaces growing up, none of them used Candy, and I don't remember it ever being an issue for anyone. I actually kinda like Candy for that reason, it's still got some sparkle.

I agree with Janan that it would make a nice middle name, it feels more fresh and unexpected there.
