Euphemia, Proserpina
What do you think of:
Euphemia
Proserpina
I really like Euphemia's meaning. It sounds pretty and could have some nice nicknames, too. Mia, Effie (I personally don't like it, but many do), Phemie, maybe? (Kind of close to Phoebe).
Proserpina is kind of cool and Prosie could be a nickname (similar to Posey, Posie, Posy, which is rising). I'm reading a book in which she is a character now (no spoilers, please, if you know the book). It kind of has Josephine meets Persephone vibes.
Thoughts? Have a nice Easter! :)

I think many people on here know my love for Euphemia by now haha. The meaning, the sound, the nickname potential, it's got it all💕
Personally I love the nn Euphie, but Phemie is cute too. Don't care for Effie.
I'm definitely intrigued by Proserpina, but it's a bit more clunky than Persephone.

I love Effie but have never been able to fall in love with Euphemia, not sure why exactly. And I like the nn Phemie.
Proserpina is fun, it’s the kind of name I like for a cat. Long, grand, a little odd and a quirky nn (Prosie, Posy, even Poppy). It could probably work on a human too but it sounds too wordy (*prose) for my taste.

I'm not a fan of either name.
I have long admired the name Euphemia. Proserpina is interesting, but I don't like it as well.
I think Euphemia is cute, interesting, sepia-toned, statuesque. I say it more as yoo-FEH-mee-ə (not the fee pronunciation).
I've never heard Proserpina; pro-SUR-pin-ə seems unpleasant (maybe reminds me of usurp?), and pro-SU-pin-ə reminds me of (pro)subpoena. The only other *pina name I think of is Agrippina which seems awkward. Prosie sounds just like the word prosy which means dull. The meaning is cool, and maybe I'd like it more if I met one, but I think I'd rather see Prospera.

Persephone is Greek, and Proserpina is the Latin version.
Yes, but I meant I've never heard Proserpina spoken, so I wouldn't know which pronunciation to go with, and they all feel awkward.

Love Euphemia, Effie is a great nickname. Not as much Proserpina. Looks like porcupine, and I don't like names that remind me of the underworld.
