"Village of the Damned" Children's Names, and what would YOU name your evil, blonde, alien space baby?
Planning a night with a friend to have a double feature watching the 60s and 90s versions of "The Village of the Damned" this weekend after I finish an essay. I haven't watched either yet, but I am familiar with the premise. A village has all the women of childbearing age fall mysteriously pregnant at the same time, and when they have babies, they are unhuman-like. Platinum blonde hair, and bright blue eyes. (as we all know, blondes with blue eyes are unhuman of course) Their morality is supposedly a bit varied between the book, first film, and the remake, but the pop culture understanding is they are all highly evil little blonde children. ANYWAYS! so premise out of the way.. they weren't explicitly named in the novel, and only 1 child, David, was named in the 60s version, but here is what their names were in the 90s remake. 1995 Children's Names:David
Mara
Robert
Julie
Dorothy
Isaac
Matthew
Casey (F)
LilyIf you mysteriously had an alien space baby with platinum blonde hair, glowing blue eyes and moral ambiguity, what would you name them? Boy and Girl. I will add mine later. Please rate my "Names I would Use" list & "Backup Favorites" list. Feel free to rate some of my other lists too if you have the time.

Favorites off the list would be Mara, Julie, Dorothy, David, Isaac, Matthew, and Lily. For my hypothetical alien space baby with platinum blond hair, glowing blue eyes, and moral ambiguity, I'd go with Geoffrey for a boy and Tabitha for a girl.
I like all of the names except Robert and Julie, which I find dull, but I don't dislike them either. I'm surprised they haven't chosen rarer names for the children, like Orson or Dolores. What I'd choose:Bertram
Dorian
Emil
Esmond
Ivan
Lambert
Newton
Niles
Palmer
Rhys
Roland
Silas
Ulric
Virgil
YorickAdelaide
Azure
Celestine
Clarice
Daphne
Eulalia
Felicity
Flora
Lara
Marlene
Misty
Romilly
Sorrel
Trixie
Velvet
Mary Elizabeth and Jackson. Chilling!
Cerulean, Pepper, Calyx, or Foxglove

Foxglove because it's pretty but poisonous?
Idk it popped into my head as appropriate for expressing my mixed feelings for a mysterious inhuman child (resulting from a forced pregnancy) who looks like all the neighbors' kids. I like that it looks and sounds odd (though it's still namey to me). I probably wouldn't worry about them fitting in at school....googling...apparently traditionally foxglove can be associated with the Virgin Mary, fertility, secrets, riddles, protection of children from bewitchment, and wonder, plus disrespecting foxgloves provokes retaliation from fairies (and yes it is pretty and poisonous). Also foxes are tricksters.
at least it's immaculate conception, only instead of Jesus it's Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader, lol
Immaculate conception does not mean miraculously conceived without a human man. It refers to the Catholic teaching that Mary was conceived by her parents without original sin.
The movie does have 1 of the mom's as a virgin to be fair
A virgin becoming pregnant is not an immaculate conception. A child being conceived without original sin is an immaculate conception.
🤷‍♀️ and?
And I was responding to someone who does not understand the term immaculate conception. I was trying to give the proper definition. Problem?

DavidIt's the blonde, blue-eyed bit that leads me straight to the beach and, naturally, the Beach Boys. IRL, not totally blonde but the aliens could have arranged that differently.
