Stas
Stas (Стас) is short form of Stanislav where I live. It is pronounced like stahs. I wonder about people here opinion on name Stas.
Personally I like Stas better as Стась (Stas'). It look the same in English, but ь make s palatised (it sound like very light sh). It could be used (it would be a little different than normal but I do not think so many people would care). It could also probably be for Anastasiy, if we still had Anastasiys. (It also is a Belarusian surname I think)What is your opinions on Stas?

I like it a medium amount, I like it best as a diminutive of Stanislav because I like the meaning.
It’s very similar to “stars” in my accent, which is non-rhotic. That’s not necessarily a bad thing; I’d be happy to meet a Stas.
I did not think of that but I hear this too! I avoid letter r in speech if it is possible because I roll r too much, so I too say stars like this :)
