Gloria
Thoughts?
It's a very American name, barely charting in the UK.
I dislike it, it's grating to me.

It's a name I really dislike. Not a terrible name, but I just really can't get into it.
🎶You really don't remember, was it something that he said? Are the voices in your head calling, Gloriaaa?🎶
My first association is the song, which I like. As for the name itself, I find it okay but dated. I wouldn't use it myself despite seeing its appeal.

I love Gloria! I think it's time for a comeback.
On the one hand I think it has some charm, it's a nice length, it looks quite nice. But having been given this name I disliked it for most of my life. I think my dislike of it partially comes from how rare and unusual it is where I live but I also don't care for the sound combination of consonant + L.
I love the meaning of Gloria, but I would prefer just the word, Glory. Slava is what we have in my country, but it isn't full name.
There's also the added thing of my parents were hockey lovers and they liked watching the American stuff and I remember 2019 when that song would play because it was Blues theme song (?) and as a non English speaker country person, never heard of Gloria outside of song

It's my fav girl G name. It is soooo beautiful and so underrated. It doesn't sound dated to me. I have met 1 Gloria and she was such a positive girl, she was such a good role model for me growing up:)
Gloria is the name of the hippo in the movie Madagascar, which is my only association with it. I don't like it, I think it's dusty and unfashionable.
I agree, don't like it at all
It's okay. I don't have any strong feelings about it either way, but it's not something I'd add to my PNL or use for any reason.
If I ever saw it used in The Netherlands I'd snigger. It's a bit too Glory Hallelujah for me.
One of my "favourite" YouTubers is named Gloria, she's given me a good impression of the name.
I have mixed feelings about Gloria. It's beautiful but also kind of alienating in an unlovable way.
It has a very harsh, cold, hifalutin art deco beauty to it. Hard to love. I'm amazed I don't have any relatives named Gloria, this is the kind of name we love to use in my family. Maybe it was too fancy for the likes of us.

I think of Old Hollywood actresses, so I love it! It has moxie.
Not a name I would ever consider: far too ambitious! But the Laura Branigan song, 'Gloria', is excellent.
I think the name Gloria is quite a beautiful, refreshing name that has a long history of usage. The name hasn't been very popular in the recent years; many feel like it's (too much of) a "grandmother's name," but vintage names are trendy now. I also think the potential nicknames of "Glow," "Glow-bug," and "Ria" could be kind of cute to use at home. I'd personally love to name a daughter as Gloria, but I entirely respect your opinions!
