Looking for more unusual names
I have a thing for weird names. I would never burden a child with those names, but I still like to make lists of them so here it is!
Maybe I'll use them for a character one day, or a pet? Not sure, but if anyone has any that fit the criteria, I'd love to hear them! What I've got so far is:
Xerxes Romulus (Zee)
Ethel Peridot (Etta)
Somerled Gregor (Merle)
Phyllis Myrtle (Lies)
Ptolemy Bear (Olly)The criteria is: First name is something odd/a guilty pleasure name. Second can be anything as long as it matches the vibe of the first name. Nickname (I love nicknames) is short or old-fashioned. Some of these names I ACTUALLY like, like I think Ethel Peridot is beautiful, but have been advised against it for a few reasons. So it goes on the list! What's everyone else thinking? The worse the better!Side note: pronunciations are ZURK-seez ROM-yoo-luhs, SUM-er-led, and TOHL-uh-mee (for Xerxes Romulus, Somerled, and Ptolemy)EDIT: By cruel, I just meant that I've had people call me cruel for considering these for children. I'm aware that cultural context makes a huge difference, so I've changed the title to 'unusual names' :)
