Mini name popularity survey
This is a mini research survey purely for my own curiosity, but I will post the results here if I get enough replies for a decent sample! I want to see whether parental age and the ‘vintage’ of the names they use correlate in any way.Question 1: How old were the people who named you, when you were born/adopted/otherwise named? (Choose more than one if needed for parents of different ages)19 or under
20-24
25-29
30-34
35-39
40-44
45-49
50-54
55 or olderQuestion 2: When did your given name peak in popularity in the country where you were named? (If it peaked multiple times or for many years, choose the closest.)20 or more years before you were named
10-19 years before you were named
5-9 years before you were named
1-4 years before you were named
The year you were named
1-4 years after you were named
5-9 years after you were named
10-19 years after you were named
20 or more years after you were named
It has never charted
For example, mine: Q1:
20-24 and 25-29Q2:
20 or more years before you were namedThanks in advance :)

Q1: 20-24; 25-29.
Q2: unfortunately the Spanish chart goes by decade so according to it my name peaked in 1990, thus 10-19 years before I was named.
35 and 43. Can’t find a statistic but it seems to have started gathering momentum a few years before my birth and has ranked pretty high constantly since?
Q1: 35-39
Q2: The year you were named (2009)
My mom was 32 and my dad was 35. My name peaked in 1971, so 20 or more years before I was named.
Q1: 35-39; 40-44
Q2: Probably 5-19 years after I was named. Hard to tell because we don't keep these statistics in South Africa.
Q1. 25-29 (mom) 30-34 (dad)Q2. It has never charted
If you live in the US, you can look at popularity beyond the US top 1000 to see when it peaked.
Q1: 25-29 for both I find it funny that they're on both ends of this age range. My mom was 25 and my dad was 29
Q2: 1-4 years before you were named 2 years to be exact.
25—29 and 35—39
20+ years before I was named
Q1: 30-34 Q2: It has never charted for girls but on Beyond Top 1000 US popularity it peaked 10-19 years after I was born(it charted for boys 10-19 years after I was born)I just do not know how you want the data and I don't want to mess it up by being a girl with a "boys'"/unisex name! :)

Q2: 5-9 years after
Q1: both 25-29
Q2: 10-19 years before I was born

Q1: both 25-29
Q2: 5-9 years before I was named (for both first and middle names, oddly enough, as I always think of my middle name as a classic, it just happened to actually peak later)
Q1: 30-34
Q2: 10-19 years after (10 years after)These would be the answers for my sister...
Q1: 25-29
Q2: 20 or more years before (65 years before)My mom named her 1st child something she'd always liked and then didn't have another name prepicked so was probably more influenced by what was in fashion for me, although both have charted in the US from 1880 to present.

Question 1: How old were the people who named you, when you were born/adopted/otherwise named?
My mother: 35-39
My father: 40-44Question 2: When did your given name peak in popularity in the country where you were named?1-4 years after you were named. My name peaked the next year after my birth to be exact (was born in '91, peaked in '92). It was in top 100 but never reached the top 10. In fact, in 1992, it was 41st position when it peaked. Never went higher. I don't know if it helps, but my name was also a family name, my great-grandmother to be exact. So there was also a part of family heritage in choosing it.
1. 35-392. It has never charted (but US Beyond says it was most used 16 years after I was born)
1. My mother was 20-24 and my father maybe 25-29? Not sure, but I know he was a little older, but not 30 yet.2. In my own country, my birth name peaked the year before I was born, so 1-4 years before I was named.

1. 30-34 and 40-44.2. 20 or more years before I was born, to say the least, was its highest peak. It was always in the top 10, but a consistent peak of rank #2 occurred from 1880-1920 (except for when it ranked as #3 in 1910).
Question 1: How old were the people who named you, when you were born? 30-34 and 55 or olderQuestion 2: When did your given name peak in popularity in the country where you were named? It's either "The year you were named" or "1-4 years after you were named"
1. 25-29
- My mom was 27 and my dad 28.2. 10-19 years before you were named.
- Can be 20, or more. I've seen it on top 10/20 lists during those times. It's a bit difficult to tell, so I'm doing some guessing here.

My mother was 14 when I was born. My name's never really caught on, though it has been on the top 1000 lists in the past, just very far down. I'd say it was probably as popular as it was ever going to get right around when I was born, which was 1980.
Sorry, I guess that isn't going to be very helpful. :)
1: 35-39 and 40-45 2: Where I live it varies by region. Because in the East (I am from east) we are still very Russian and we use Russian names there more. My name is used by both sides of the country, but more in the east. My name has been around for a long time (most names in my country have) It was top chart for a while before I was born and started popularity decline around then. That being said it is still used.
1. 30-342. In the year I was born (1994), my name was at #4 (it peaked at #4). It's remained in the top 25 since 1997 and the top 50 since 1974. It didn't exist in the data before then except for 1914 where it appeared at #96 (out of 100) and 1904 at #75. If this helps.

20-4, 25-9My name peaked 13 years but it was the same level till 2 years after I was born
1. My parents were 35-39 and 45-492. 20 or more years. My parents really like vintage names.
35-391-4 years before I was born it peakedEdit: for clarity
