I can't remember any such attempts. What has puzzled me for decades is that for a couple of years, in my home town, total strangers would come up to me in the street and greet me confidently as Margaret. My cousin Margaret was about 8 years older than me and a good deal taller, with a very different body shape. We had brown hair and green eyes in common, but nothng else. And I was never quick enough to ask them: tended to just stare blankly until they went away!
