What do people usually call you when they don’t remember your name?
My name is Chelsea, and lately it seems like if people don’t remember my name they usually call me Chloe. I also get Ashley, Courtney, Catherine, and Sarah (for some reason) a lot.

My name is Francesca and I get practically any three or four syllable name ending in -a. I’ve gotten Daniela, Caterina, Alessandra, Samantha and most often Jessica.
My name is Patricia. I have gotten Rebecca, Bridget, and Felicia.
I don't remember childhood that clearly, but I think once older lady called me "Inga".
Maybe it was because she overheard nickname "Ina" (Inez) and added G to it.
Also "Agnes" at doctors, but that's from not looking at my documents. Today I don't have that kind of situations, only mistyping by changing Z to S.
Okay so nobody has mis-named me with two exceptions which isn't really the same:At a cafe once, I had "Shell" written on my cup. I am Charlotte. It has puzzled me how they didn't hear two-syllables and not oneMy boyfriend has two older brothers, both of them married to a Sarah. His dad sometimes mistakenly calls me Sarah, but I think that's less to do with me, and more to do with my boyfriend being mistaken for one of his brothers lmao
I get Susanne a lot, and occasionally Lisanne. Also, some people seem to think any rose- name will do.
Michel, Mikel (MEE-kel) and Miguel. My name's Michael. It's worse when it gets written - I've seen Maikel, Mikel, Maiquel and even Michelle once.
I can't remember any such attempts. What has puzzled me for decades is that for a couple of years, in my home town, total strangers would come up to me in the street and greet me confidently as Margaret. My cousin Margaret was about 8 years older than me and a good deal taller, with a very different body shape. We had brown hair and green eyes in common, but nothng else. And I was never quick enough to ask them: tended to just stare blankly until they went away!
Given name is Melissa. For me it's Michelle, always.
Was bad enough before I started working with someone named Michelle, now it's a daily occurrence
I don't think that's happened to me...
People usually just pronounce it wrong or mishear it the first time (Talia instead of Callia), not misremember it.
Although it was much more prevalent when I was younger, I get called Grace. I have a sister with that name which I'm sure was partially why. But even people who didn't know me or my sister would call me Grace? I don't really understand that, but I guess I look like a Grace? I've noticed that it has happened to an extreme lesser degree in the past few years, though. The only other name I can remember being called is Mary which was pretty recent. Neither Grace nor Mary sound anything like Hope, but I can understand that they're all in a similar genre of name.

Huh, Catherine and Sarah seem pretty different other than being common names. With Chloe, I can at least see the connection because they're both common/popular yet Ch is uncommon enough someone might group them together subconsciously.I've gotten: Virginia, Veronica, Cori, Lori, Vanessa, Valerie...longish V names vaguely popular in the US in 1989 plus names that rhyme with Tori...
Tony and Troy but those were more people misreading than misremembering or mishearing. My name's Victoria.

On more than one occasion: Aubrey. My name's Audrey. 😐
That's weird; I would expect most people to call you Kelsey if they couldn't remember your real name.My actual name is Starla. I've been mistaken mostly for Darla ("This is Starla" on the phone sounds very much like "This is Darla) or occasionally Carla.
They call me Kelsey, Jessie, or Shelby when they mishear my name.
Anna. English speakers call me Anna if they forget my name or if they think it's too long. Ukrainian and Russian speakers call me Anna because they assume it's my full name. I go by Anya which tends to be short for Anna. My name is Anastasiya.I've also been called Stacy and somehow Oleksandra.
I'm a Chloe, and I get Cleo and Zoe sometimes. I also get called by my last name a lot, especially at appointments and things, because people think it's my first name.
A couple of my teachers who'd taught my older sister would just call me my last name because otherwise they'd forget and call me by my sister's name. We do have somewhat similar first names, though - her name is the one even strangers use most often when they forget mine.
