How would you..?
I’m reading a book where the main character’s name starts and ends with the same letter as their grandfather’s. name. Applying this to your own name, which name would you choose for yourself? What about for your son and daughter?
E.g. Grandmother is Elizabeth - starting with the letter E, ending with the letter H - you name could be Emmaleigh, Edith, Eulah etcE.g. Your father’s name is Jonas Christian - starting with the letter J/C, ending with the letter S/N - your son’s name
could be Jens Caden, Julius Carsten, James Calvin etcE.g Your mother’s name is Anne-Marie (double name) - you daughter’s name could be Alice-Mable or Addie-Mae

The letters from my grandma's name are E-e K-e, so I'd probably go with Evangeline Kate for myself. I don't like most of the nns for Evangeline, but otherwise I'd be fine with it as a name.
My mom really isn't giving me many options with J and y for the first name. Her middle name gives me H-r, and since I already wouldn't name my daughter Journey, I just had fun with it - Journey Honor
My dad gives me J-y E-n for the first name. I landed on Jeffery Emilian for a son. I could see myself using that one.
Ooh that's an interesting thought. The names I'd probably choose based on family members:
Maternal & Paternal Grandmother: Eike / Émile / Edie
Maternal Grandfather: Kamil / Kestrel / Kiril
Paternal Grandfather: Jenci (only one I kind of liked)
My paternal grandmother is Rivanna ("Rih-VANN-nuh". I love her name, and would totally use it on a daughter...if not Vanessa): I'd use Rebecca, Rina, Roxanna, or maybe Rosina. Not sharing her middle name for privacy reasons. My maternal grandmother was Vivian Louise: The best I can come up with is Veann Lucille, for a daughter. For myself, the best I can come up with is Vallen Lee (I really dislike this, lmao. It even sounds like the word "Valley". I just refuse to use the name Van).My maternal grandfather was Jesse Eugene. For a daughter, Julie Estelle.I can't come up with any boy names with these, really, haha. Fun challenge!
My grandma’s name is Constance Mae. For myself, I would choose Celeste Mirabelle. My mom’s name is Heidi Renee. For my daughter, I would choose Harmoni Rose.My dad’s name is Gary Mitchell. For my son, I would choose Grady Maxwell.…my parents’ first names didn’t leave many good options.

Philippa Mae (or, if it actually has to be a different name, Philippa Madeleine)
Siobhan CecilyRhett Slade
Britta Daisy
Me: Kristen
Son: Morlow(dislike, but I couldn’t think of anything besides Matthew, which is my dad’s name).
Daughter: Rhiannon(don’t love it, but it’s the best I got)
My grandmother was Karin. I would probably choose Kaitlyn or Katrin for myself. I don't like many K names. Kiran and Keelin are alright as well.Using my other grandmother's name, Rachael, I'd probably choose Rosabel. Rachel is already my middle name. For a son and daughter, my parents' names both start with S and end with -n and -a respectively.Sebastian & Seraphina
Soren & Sienna
Solomon & Sibylla
Samson & Sophia
Grandfathers: Laszlo, Junius
Grandmothers: Attila, Caspian
Father: Jasper
Mother: Titania
Oh these games are fun. D-L, S-Y, M-A, and J-E: Daffodil (I'm sad to say that this would work for me)
Sally
Marsha
Joanie
For my kids, they would be R-A, L-I (they would have no grandfathers):Ramona
Luigi or Leni
Very few options for me to pick from because of that letters my grandmothers names starts/ends with. I guess I'd go with Bet or Bridget, maybe Bridget nn Bet? I don't like either one of them though. Using my other grandmother's name leaves me with Sparrow. My father's name starts with P and ends with R. The best option is Parker, or Potter using my nerdy side.
As for a daughter; Caelia, Clea, Cassandra, Clara? For a real life daughter I'd go with Clara.

My grandmother is Jadwiga, I would be Jagoda. My father is Peter, my son would be Prosper. My mother is Magdalena, by daughter would be Miranda.
My grandfather's name was Allan. I guess I could be Austin or Ashwin. His middle name was Whitaker, which leaves some pretty interesting combos.Austin Wilbur
Austin Walter
Ashwin Webster
Ashwin Walker
Irma was my grandmother's name- IdaliaElmer William was my father's name- I can't think of anything...Diane Helen was my mother's name- Deanne Heaven. I don't really want to use Heaven as a name, but its the only thing that matches.
Evander Wisdom
I didn't even think of Evander! I was wracking my brain and couldn't come up with anything.
It's a cool idea. I would be honored to have Everly Audrey as my granddaughter.
Both my grandfathers were Thomas. Tessa Suzanne; Trevor Stephen
Telemachus or Theodosius would be cool names to fit the pattern and honor Thomas.
Well my potential daughter is already set, since my mom's birth name is Eustolia and my favorite name is Euphemia. For a son I guess it would have to be Artemio (for Arturo). For myself I like Petra or Pyrrha.
Grandfathers H/D or A/T - Hildegard or Annett - I'd prefer to be Annett
Son: R/Y Riley
Daughter: B/A Becca
Me: Nevena
Son: Victor
Daughter: NoyalaI cannot find a feminine name with T..r - my paternal granny's. A name I can use or at least like((
What an interesting concept! What is the name of the book?Gramps:
Z/W - Can't think of anything. S/R - Skyler. H/A - Hedviga or Hersilia. B/A - Bernardetta or Brianna. For son I would had to repeat names of my father. For daughter:
Ianthe Kyra / Iliyana Kalina.
grandmother = Esther May - Ember Melody, Eleanor Mallory (And I almost fit the pattern because my name is Emma May)
mother = Theresa Marcella - Talitha Meiriona, Tamora Mirabel, Tarja Menodora, Theodora Matea, Tiberia Maya, Thora Morgana
father = Robert Allan - Rolant Aurelien, Rolant Auberon, Rahat Aneirin, Rembrandt Alden
Frode (maternal) and Svend (paternal):
Folke and Sigurd
- It was really Svend Erik, but he only went mostly by Svend, so that's what I'm using here.Anna (maternal) and Lydia (paternal):
Alma and Laila
Wow! I never thought about it before, but my parents named my sister and me following this pattern! I doubt it was on purpose because my mother never mentioned it. mom Evelyn - Ellen
dad Cecil - Carol
Father: S_e - Saoirse
Mother: C_e - Caoimhe
Grandmothers: M_t & F_e - Millicent & Faye
Grandfathers: J_n & H_y - Joscelin & Hayden-Wrenley (Yes, I cheated. I couldn't find even one single H_y name that I like, so I hyphenated)
I would keep my name Anastasiya. I have a grandmother who was named Artemiziya, so I could still use my current name. For my children: My parents are named Semen and Zhanna. There's no other names where I live that start and end with the same letter in the alphabet we use that I like other than Zhanna so Zhanna I guess? If we're going by English alphabet, Zoreslava or Zoryana. For my father's name adaptation, Stepan.
