Re: Amelia, Caroline, or Leah with middle names Louisa, Mary, or Elizabeth?
in reply to a message by Epíklisi
Caroline Mary. In fact, Caroline is the only name that goes well with all three mns. Amelia Louisa has rhyming -a endings and the same long -e- sound repeated. Amelia Mary is better, but the -me- + Ma- isn't good. Amelia Elizabeth runs together: Ameliarelizabeth. Leah Louisa has two Ls and the same long -e- and rhyming -a. Leah Mary is OK but not interesting, unless Leah + Mary = Liam Airy! Leahrelizabeth , same problem as with Amelia. Caroline Elizabeth is very dignified and grown-up, which she'd be for most of her life so that's fine. Caroline Louisa is OK though I'd prefer the sound of Caroline Louise.

You’re probably not going to ever enjoy my posts, because the comments you make about things “flowing” together (as some say), are things that I am aware of already and deliberately ignore, for example, I’d happily use Amelia Elizabeth with its elision, or Rachel Louisa with its two L’s coming together, or Leah Elizabeth with its melodically repetitive vowel sounds just because people avoid them normally. To me, these combinations are sensible, stunning, and they strike me as original, ripely available, and unusual because they don’t follow the norms of combining, some of which you pointed out. It’s definitely my style to explore beyond the common standards of “flow” (my favorite word!) found here.

You are every bit as entitled to your opinions as I am to mine. Why do you think I would only follow posts I enjoy?
Well, at least you’re consistent.
