There was a *woman* called Leander on TV yesterday. Hmm. Because of her English accent, it sounded like Leanda (an elaboration of Leanne, I guessed), but when her name came up on the screen it was in fact Leander with an R. Odd. It's not a well-known name, so I expect her parents found it in a book but didn't check its gender :-s

I agree about Leander

I like the name Leander for a boy, but not at all for a girl. Leandra would be a good feminine form of the name though.

I actually don't care for any of those combinations in the BAs. It does make me giggle to see that someone named their daughter Orla. Orla is one of my nns because it's what my younger sister called me before she could say Laura. I still haven't gotten used to the fact that it's an actual name.

= Tsk, tsk. A lady named Leander irks me as much as the girl named Marcel.
