Haakon
As part of my amateur genealogy sleuthing, I was researching the etymology of one of the surnames in my family, and I found out it may be related to the name Haakon. That was really unexpected, since I didn't think I had any Scandinavian background at all (I probably don't, but it's fun to think about).
Haakon has now transfixed me. I never thought about the name much before, but now I love it. It's so.....wild.
What do you think of Haakon? Or its modern equivalent, Håkon?

I know a Haakon! He’s a kind, gentle man so I’ve only good associations. I’ve always found it quite intriguing and definitely not inaccessible. He pronounces it more like “Hawken”
My daughter has a classmate with named Hakon. He's a bit of a brat. He also pronounces it hak-in.
I was looking up how to pronounce Haakon and it sounds like "Hawken" to me, which I like a lot!
I like Scandinavian names in general, and Haakon is just fine by me. Håkon requires either infinite patience or a Norwegian keyboard.
Sorry don't like either name
Ooh, I love it! It's so wintry and dramatic.
"Wintry and dramatic" are good words to describe it! I think of snow on black rocks when I see it.
