Huh, I had a client today with alzheimer's named Natalie, and I thought the same thing...well more like 45 than 30 but yeah. I thought her daughter's name sounded like the older one.My grandma's best friend was named Margaret. She didn't use a NN. My main associations with Margaret unshortened are her, history books, and nuns. I think it's a nice name.I always liked Madge and Midge.
Peggy and Gretel are kind of cute. Meg seems classic. Maggie / Mags has grown on me in recent years; I remember reading Maggie in a story as a kid and thinking it hideous, but now it's just retro.
