Vincent
I asked a man what his son was named he said Vincent after Vincent van Gogh.
What do you think of the name Vincent?
If you had to name your child (m&f) after a famous painter, how would you name them?

Vincent is so, so handsome!
I really like it. It's handsome, strong, a bit nerdy and perennial without being overused.

My cat is named Vincent! Not after Van Gogh - in her case it's for Vincent Price.
Van Gogh's work is truly incredible though, he's a good artist to be named after. He's so famous that his art almost stops meaning anything, you see it so often in books and merchandise. But seeing it in person is mind blowing. When I finally saw some Van Goghs in person at the National Gallery in the UK, I was astonished.
Anyway, I love Artemisia Gentileschi. And I love Aubrey for a boy, for Aubrey Beardsley.
So, Artemisia and Aubrey. They sound kind of insufferable together, LOL.

Vincent is good, and so is Van Gogh. Looking at V names for males, it's really only Vernon, Victor and Vincent, and they're all acceptable, though I'd probably settle on Victor for family reasons.
For a girl, I looked at Wikipedia's entry for British women painters and soon got some pleasing choices: Anne, Cecily, Lucy, Nancy, Jane, Harriet! My son is Peter, and I actually found a Peter Bishop who painted North Welsh landscapes. Caroline Byng Lucas and Beatrice Lithiby would fit for my daughters.

Vincent is very handsome!
I’d opt for Gertrude Leonora (after Gertrude Abercrombie & Leonora Carrington) & Odilon Remy (after Odilon Redon & Remedios Varo).
