Kobe doesn't happen in South Africa, but Kobie does, as a nn for Jakoba. Pronounced KOO_ERbi, where the R is not pronounced. Or a bit like cooer, if that exists as a descriptor for a pigeon? Once again, no R is heard. It isn't used as a male name or nn at all.
Colby? Yet another lnfn; I wouldn't know if the first syllable is short, like blob, or long, like coal.
