Re: Found a kitten!

Please take him to the vet. Some people might also be looking for him, so I'd phone the animal shelters and vets nearby to ask if he has been reported missing. It's possible that he is a stray, but it's also possible that he is very much missed and losing a beloved pet must be heartbreaking. So before I'd be thinking about names, I'd make sure he's not someone's beloved pet. He might wear a chip so I'd get that checked out at the vet's.
I know you mean well, but it's always horrifying to me, when someone finds a pet and just chooses a new name and decided to keep him without even wondering if he might already have a family. I think everyone who has a pet can understand this feeling. They are family members. I think in this case it's not very likely, but I still think that you should check and most countries have laws about this as well, so you cannot just keep a pet you've found, but need to make sure it doesn't have an owner first.
2,5 months is also extremely young, so if he wandered off and doesn't belong to anybody, his siblings might be around too and need help, so I'd be looking out for them as well.
Sorry, I don't mean to spoil your happiness or anything and if he has no family, then I hope you'll keep him and you'll have a lovely life together, but I just think these things need to be checked out first, no matter how unlikely.

I appreciate what you're saying, but you don't understand all the circumstances.
There are a lot of stray cats. It's not a suburban neighborhood.
I already have 4 dogs, so there is large chance we will not be able to keep the kitten even if we wanted to.
Also, I can name the cat whatever I want to name it for the time I have it.
We saved its life.
