Name from tiktok
I saw a woman who named her daughter Corvidia, and mentioned a couple different nicknames: Corvi, Vivi, Coco, and Birdie (due to the root of the name being corvid). What do you think of Corvidia, and which nickname(s) do you prefer? I don’t hate it! It reminds me of Cordelia.

Invidia is one of my GPs and Corvidia reminds me a lot of that. It's.... A lot of name. Very Addams Family Goth. I don't exactly hate it either. I'm so curious about what her middle name is (I hope it's not "Rose").
It's really ugly. It reminds me of covid and morbidity. And the nn Birdie is so "oh, look at me, I know a bit of Latin!"
I dislike it.
Don't really like it, first thought COVID
It's cringe, in a cute way. The kind of name I might have claimed to name a daughter when I was a teenager, if I'd been seeking attention on tiktok. The kind of name one gives to their avatar in an MMORPG. I mean, I like the name Raven. I like crows. And Ruidia is a GP of mine.
I think it's not unusable in the US where we pronounce the R. Just kind of fanciful and self-conscious, like naming a kid Anakin.Corva - now that would be kind of cool. Not quite as associated by sound with non-namey things (COVID and NVIDIA and maybe invidious, vs just Corvette and maybe vaguely larva) - also less purple and gothy, and more consistent with the word corvus and name Corvo.I dislike the nicknames Coco and Birdie.

Corva is cool! That would make an awesome fantasy name.
UnuseableThe very fact that COVID is right smack in name makes it sooo unuseable even for a fictional character!
I think it's a pretty name! A bit Shakespearean or mysterious sounding.
I think it's very pretty! Unfortunately, my first thought was of COVID, and it sounds a little close to corpse to me, too :/
So, I guess, overall, I don't know what I think. I definitely don't hate it, though.
Corvid and COVID are a little close in sound.
That is so true; I didn’t think of that.
I almost read it as Covidia.
I had to keep re-reading it because my dyslexic brain kept autocorrecting it to Covidia! And I was so upset for that poor child being named after COVID.
It is an unfortunate name.
