Madeleine or Christianne for a girl?
Madeleine or Christianne for a girl?

I prefer Christianne over Madeleine. I've never been a fan of Madeleine because it begins with the word 'mad.'
Madeleine. Christianne would have her name misspelled and mispronounced literally all her life..

Madeleine, which I really like, or preferably Maddalena.

I've always had a soft spot for Madeleine.
I like both, but Madeleine is more usable.
Madeleine has never appealed to me: who wants to be, or to know, a Mad Elaine? Christianne has an awkward rhythm, but no doubt it would quickly become Chris or Chrissie, so it would hardly matter. I'd use Christiana as a mn, if at all: two of my great-grandmothers were named Christiana, so my maternal grandparents each had a mother and a mother-in-law with the same name. Since we aren't a religious family, I might well decide not to appear to be; the two old ladies no doubt were.
Madeleine definitely. Far less complicated than Christianne.
Madeleine is beautiful. I prefer the Christiane spelling.
